What is the Difference between Industrial Hemp and Medicinal Hemp?

Industrial hemp grows very tall and it’s fibrous stalks have many uses; including paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, construction, health food, and fuel. Industrial hemp also contains CBD and THC in varying degrees. The compounds are used to make tinctures and topicals. Industrial hemp has very little to no THC (the psychoactive compound).

Medicinal Hemp is a high cannabidiol (CBD) strain of cannabis that contains trace amounts of THC. Until recently the non-psychoactive compound CBD had been bred out of the plant for the purpose of developing high THC strains.  Now that people are realizing the benefits of cannabidiol it is being bred back into the cannabis plant. FDA guidelines state, that cannabis plants with less than 0.3% THC are considered hemp, or medicinal hemp as I like to call it.

What Are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids or compounds are naturally occurring antioxidants and neuroprotectants found  in hemp. Major compounds in cannabis are THC and CBD. FlowerChild products contain very high percents of CBD with minimal THC.

Are your products industrial hemp based?

No. Our extract comes from a medicinal strain cannabis plant and does have some THC in trace amounts. Less than .3% which classifies it as hemp. Not industrial hemp that is grown for ropes and clothing but rather a medicinal hemp strain.

Do you ship your hemp products out-of-state?

Yes! FlowerChild ships it’s CBD Oil to all 50 States. The United States Farm Bill of 2014 classified industrial hemp as containing less than 0.3% THC on a dry-weight basis. Because FlowerChild products contain less than 0.3% THC, we are allowed by U.S. Federal law to conveniently ship to your doorstep.

Where can I purchase FlowerChild products?

Are your medicinal hemp products organic?

Where does your Hemp come from?

We purchase our hemp from licensed growers in Oregon,

Do you grow your medicinal hemp indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors, I believe the sun and rain infuse wonderful healing properties into the plants and bring out the aromas and flavors.

Are Your Products Tested for Pesticides?

Yes, we get our products tested for pesticides and potency by an Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) State certified lab.

What Extraction Method Do You Use?

We use a food grade alcohol extraction method rather than a CO2 extraction. The alcohol extraction retains the chlorophyll, cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids resulting in whole plant therapy.

Is FlowerChild CBD Legal?

Hemp CBD Oil is legal without a prescription and can be purchased in all 50 states.

FLowerChild hemp can be sold as a non-drug legally, in much the same way that hemp hearts, protein powders, or energy bars can be sold and advertised through the United States.

In 2014, President Obama signed the Farm Bill, which made some hemp products legal throughout the US, including FlowerChild Hemp products.

Section 7606 of the Farm Bill permits universities and state departments of agriculture to cultivate industrial hemp for limited purposes through research pilot programs.  Since FLowerChild is registered with the state of Oregon Department of Agriculture, any laws that might conflict with or restrict its production are “not-withstood,” per the Farm Bill.

Further, Congress supported this ruling with the 2015 Consolidated Appropriations Omnibus Act, which further protects FlowerChild from DEA action. Enforcement of the DEA opinion would be in direct violation of this federal law.  Sections 543 and 763 of the Omnibus Act state that it’s unlawful for federal funds to be used in contradiction to the Farm Bill Act. The Omnibus Act also explicitly bars the Department of Justice and the DEA from using federal funds to inhibit the industrial hemp research authorized under Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill.

What is the Entourage Effect?

The Entourage Effect is a phrase coined in 1998 by two Israeli scientists to describe their findings that taking the entire spectrum of natural chemicals found in cannabis is more beneficial than only taking a single molecule compound.

FlowerChild CBD products are whole-plant extracts that include a variety of phytochemicals. These beneficial compounds include a range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a collection of cell receptors within a mammal’s body. Scientists discovered this system in the 1990s.

Cannabinoids work with the mammalian Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a vast and vital receptor system essential for maintaining homeostasis, or good health. This receptor system exists in the immune system, the central nervous system, and within many organs. The ECS accepts our bodies’ own endocannabinoids as well as the cannabinoids found in hemp.

The ECS is designed to repair damaged cells and provide a state of internal stability necessary for survival, despite fluctuations in our external environment.

A human’s endocannabinoid system affects many regions of the body, including functions of the immune system, the central nervous system (including the brain), organs, connective tissue, and glands.

The ECS assists in various biological tasks, including appetite, analgesia, energy & balance, immune function, memory, metabolism, sleep, stress response, thermoregulation, and the function of the autonomic nervous system.

A cannabinoid is a compound that fits into a cannabinoid receptor. Hemp produces over 80 different cannabinoids that work synergistically with a mammal’s endocannabinoid system.

FlowerChild products are whole-plant extracts that include a range of beneficial compounds found in hemp, including cannabinoids and other phyto-compounds (such as terpenes and flavonoids) that work together to heighten health benefits, otherwise known in science as the Entourage Effect.

When our bodies are deficient in endocannabinoids, FlowerChild’s natural phyto-cannabinoids can be introduced to stimulate activity in the ECS’s major receptors, CB1 and CB2. The effects are systemic and restore proper balance, allowing for a self-regulated immune response to a variety of ailments.

Do I need a Prescription or Medical Card?

No. FlowerChild CBD products are classified as hemp and are thus legally available to anyone who wishes to purchase them.

In contrast to marijuana, federal law does allow for the cultivation, processing and marketing of hemp and hemp products, which would include cannabinoids derived from industrial hemp, under the conditions set forth in Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (aka the “Farm Bill”). Passed by Congress and signed into law by the President in 2014, the Farm Bill permits the growth and cultivation of industrial hemp in states where hemp is legal to grow. This legislation, coupled with our status as a commercial industrial hemp registrant with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, allows for FlowerChild to operate in accordance with Federal hemp law.

What are Phytochemicals?

Phytochemicals, according to Arts (as cited in UC Davis, 2008) are a large group of plant-derived compounds hypothesized to be responsible for much of the disease protection conferred from diets high in fruits, vegetables, beans, cereals, and plant-based beverages such as tea and wine.

Do I Need to Refrigerate my CBD Oil?

Your CBD Oil does not need to be refrigerated, but if you prefer to take it when it chilled you can store it in the fridge without that impacting the product. We recommend storing your Oil anywhere that the bottle isn’t exposed to constant light and or heat.

How Do I Track My Order?

Once we print out your shipping label, an automatic email is sent to your account from Stamps.com stating that your shipment will be available to track.

Will FlowerChild CBD Oil Cause Me to Fail a Drug Test?

As with all hemp products, there is a chance that consumption could trigger a positive drug test. Please consult with your doctor and/or employer if this is a concern.

What is the Shelf Life of CBD Oil?

We continually evaluate the long-term stability of our products, and preliminary data shows that if stored properly, there is no observed degradation of FlowerChild CBD products for up to 1 year.

What is in the CBD Pet Tincture?

300mg of CBD extract and grape-seed oil in a 30ml (1oz) bottle.

Grapes and raisins are bad for pets and can cause renal failure. However, the grape seed is not toxic but loaded with beneficial Omega-6 fatty acids and other plant constituents. Both grape seed oil and extract contribute to healthier tissue, shiner coat, stronger teeth and gums, and a reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.

Are There any Side Effects to Giving CBD Oil to my Pet?

There should be none as long as the suggested serving allotments are followed. If too much hemp extract oil is given, then temporary drowsiness may occur. Additionally, too much oil, not hemp extract, can cause animals to have an upset stomach and potential diarrhea. Stick to the recommended serving sizes to ensure a happy pet!

You Have Grape-Seed Oil in the Pet Tincture, Is That not Bad for Pets?

What is CBD Oil?

CBD Oil is the essential oil produced from the leaves, buds, and stem of the hemp plant. Hemp oil can be extracted by both mechanical and chemical means. In the extraction process, the oil retains a range of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found naturally in hemp. Cannabinoids are patented by the US Department of Health & Human Services as “antioxidants and neuroprotectants,” and their antioxidative and neuroprotective properties are retained when the oil is extracted. Oil that comes from only the seeds of hemp— hemp seed oil — does not include all of the same plant compounds and is primarily composed of dietary fats.

FlowerChild CBD is a whole plant hemp extract with a spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Cannabinoids are phyto-compounds produced by the hemp plant. Cannabinoids work with the mammalian Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a vast and vital receptor system essential for maintaining homeostasis, or good health. It exists in the immune system, many organs, and the central nervous system. The ECS accepts our bodies’ internal endocannabinoids as well as the cannabinoids found in hemp. FlowerChild CBD naturally contains the cannabinoids cited in the US patent, but also other phyto-compounds that work synergistically to heighten their positive effect, otherwise known in science as the Entourage Effect.

FLowerChild CBD is legal and can be shipped to all 50 states.
